One of my favourite places in Australia, the outback. After spending 5 weeks on the east coast I travelled to the Red Centre for a change of scenery. And a change of scenery it was because I felt like I was in a completely different country, a different world, from the east coast of Australia.
I flew into Alice Springs, a small & remote town that is the gateway for exploring the Red Centre.
From here you can rent a car to explore the outback but this was a bit daunting for me as I was travelling alone and have never driven on the other side of the road before, or in the outback for that matter! Therefore, I opted for a tour. There are many tour operators and after a bit of research I went with The Rock Tour’s 3 days Alice Springs to Uluru return trip. I really enjoyed this tour. The guide was great and it was a small group of about 8 people. We camped under the stars for two nights which was a memorable experience. We were visited by Dingos at night and they tried to steal a mans shoes and another women’s glasses. When I woke up in the morning I noticed my headlight was missing. A man on my tour found it close by the campsite with a dingo’s teeth marks in it!
The tour was 3 days, 2 nights and we got to visit all the main sights including Kings Canyon, Kata Tjuta, and both sunset and sunrise at Uluru.
Here are some photos from my trip!
